CGIRB participates in RTP Headquarters United Way Day of Action, 2012
On Thursday, June 21, 2012, Copernicus Group IRB joined other RTP companies in celebrating United Way’s 125th anniversary. CGIRB employees wrote 50 letters to our military and donated 259 books to the Durham Literacy Council, and CGIRB matched these items with monetary donations to the NC Chapter of Operations HomeFront and the Durham Literacy Council. CGIRB supported two teams in the Race for the Cure
CGIRB employees wore pink for the month of May and the CGIRB Community Connections team donated $1 dollar for every person who wore pink each day. The day before the Race, CGIRB held a Savor with Surviors lunch for employees’ family or friends affected by cancer. Over $1,000.00 was split between CGIRB’s two Race teams.

CGIRB employees volunteer for Habitat for Humanity
Thirteen CGIRB employees and IRB members participated in renovating two historic Durham homes for families in need. Learn more about Durham Habitat for Humanity
Semi-annual CGIRB RTP Trash Clean Up
In April, 20 CGIRB employees joined together to clean up the area of Triangle Drive, TW Alexander and NC Hwy 54 collecting 12 bags of trash and recyclables.
Make A Wish Foundation of Eastern NC 5K
Six CGIRB employees participated in the March 2012 Make A Wish Foundation 5k, donating a total of $350.00. To learn more about the Make A Wish program, click here.
Ronald McDonald House of Durham
In January and February of 2012, CGIRB employees took part in four activities to support the Ronald McDonald House of Durham.
One CGIRB employee captained a team in a local Climbathon benefitting the Ronald McDonald House and other employees pitched in by making donations which helped the team raise $3,535.00. The team made 601 ascents equal to 14,424 vertical feet!
CGIRB employees participated in a Hearts for Kids event created 114 handmade Valentine’s Day cards for hospitalized children and the Community Connections team donated $1 for each valentine.
CGIRB’s Walk for Lunch challenge raised $45.00 for Ronald McDonald House of Durham. A $1.00 contribution was made for each walker who participated.
On National Go Red Day, CGIRB staff wore red to commermorate Women’s Hearth Health. The Community Connections team donated $1 for each employee wearing red for a contribution of $70.00!
“Helping Hands” food drive
CGIRB collected 766 pounds of nonperishable food and $780.51 in donations for the Durham branch of the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina. The results of the Nov. 1-30 food drive are equal to 3,962 meals.
Salvation Army Angel Tree program
On Dec. 9, 2011 CGIRB donated gifts – including 10 bicycles – to 40 Durham, N.C., children in conjunction with the Salvation Army.
